College football is over....

Indiana, yes, the Hoosiers, are your National Champions. This is how much the game has changed. Great Coach, great resources, NIL, transfers, and even YOU can win one. So now that the CFP is over, we can give our undivided attention to the GA High School job market. It's been a fun year keeping up with it and there are at least 2 months left in the cycle.

Recently, my dude at the GAFFCA addressed the topic of why out of state coaches don't get looks. I have opinions, I will share them on next week's podcast. There are reasons GA is one of THE PREMIER places to be a high school HFC. Might be because traditionally things have stayed in house. Same thing would happen to us if we tried to go to say, Michigan. It's the nature of the business. Just remember, if they really, REALLY want to Coach in GA, Redan is open, go get that one. You ain't getting, and shouldn't get a ROME unless you have won a LOT. Nature of the game. If you don't like it, kick rocks.

Rome- Bill Stewart (Rabun County DC)

Grayson- Greg Carswell (DC on STAFF)

Monroe- Albany school and Coach Herring did a great job establishing a foundation there to return the Golden Tornadoes to former glory. The Benny is a tough place.

Lovejoy- Always have had athletes, different time now with Form Bs, tough 9-5 gig for sure.

Alpharetta- dude made it one year before moving on to greener pastures. Well, this one is slap in the middle of all the mess. If you have players, you HAVE to try to keep them.

Mitchell County- They have 3 too many schools in that county/area. Athletes yes, rest of what you would want, not so much...and then there are the storms and nadoes...it's an alley and they come there.

Clinch- Rance Morgan (STAFF)

Swainsboro- Remember this place fired Coach Roberts due to "low morale on the coaching staff" years ago, figured out their mistake, and got him back. He has done an excellent job here. You want small town football? This is it!

Appling County- Can anyone just stay here and not get caught of in the dysfunction of the community politics? Probably not, not historically anyway. Great support, great community if you can deal with the nonsense.

Gainesville- Santavious Bryant (Grayson)

Cook- One of the best of us moves on. He will be missed. Facilities are outstanding, talent cycles hard here and the community is dysfunctional. If you catch the cycle right, you can win big

Northgate- Ceiling realized and you are the step child in a 3 school county. Lost a great one, but this is a great job really. Good place to live, work, and raise kids.

Wilkinson County- Home of Honey BooBoo and a basketball school. Tough gig, Coach Ward probably hit the ceiling, but it could be a good place. Kids are awesome there from my interactions with them in the past

Chapel Hill- A Douglas County school and it ain't Douglas County. Traditionally hard to get assistants in and they don't really care about football, never have

Villa Rica- Michael Hilbert (DC on staff)

Hart County- filled

Heritage Conyers- Quincy Carter (UGA Star)

Gordon Central- Billy Blizzard (DC on STAFF)

Wheeler- This one is predicted to stay in house. I have no basis for offering an opinion here so I will not. SUN Coach's can't rate things we don't know about, however...if I had to, I would say:

Allatoona- well, this is a SYS situation.

Bradwell Institute- major Admin issues, they go through coaches like underwear. It's bad.

Union Grove- IDK, seems to be looking for a HFC every 3 to 2 years or so. Must be a reason...

    Lanier County-Marcus Gowan (HFC Gordon Central)

    South Paulding- Coach Allen did a great job here and is leaving on his own terms. Paulding County is a tough place to coach. Not because of kids, not because of support from community, not from a facilities stand point. There are other things and you can figure them out.
