Just like that...

And as Tommy Cooper said, "just like that." January is over with. Now we progress into the month of love. I would like to remind you all to make sure you have made arrangements for Valentimes Day well in advance. My darling person sent me a FB message reel of a lady getting a cupcake bouquet and said, "I want this." See that's easy. I work best when I am told exactly what to do.

With that being said, the job market for high school coaches work best when you know exactly what to do. This may include knowing exactly what you are getting yourself into. With most jobs being filled, others will open. Now, we will know that there will be two coaches that filmed themselves either a: reacting to getting told they got the job or 2: a five minute video of random nonsense. I hope and pray to the baby Jesus in the swaddling clothes that my boy FiredFootballCoaches doesn't get a hold of said videos. If he does, It will go viral in the GA coaching community. But hey, you gotta eat so I get it.

Some people have handled the coaching changes fantastically. You may not agree with the choice, but one can't fault places that immediately made the decisions. See Gainesville and Hebron Christian. This is high school football, shouldn't be that hard. These places that stay open for months is telling. There have been some that were hired due to the committee having to settle because there weren't any applicants that they thought would be a splash. This makes me think, "self, why didn't they just hire that guy in the first place?" Odds are he is going to do a fine job. Could have saved a lot of headaches and gas money if they just do that to begin with. But then, you see, the committee doesn't get to play.

This will be an unpopular opinion, but if you are a parent, or community member, you have two jobs: raise money and support the kids. IF you can't do those two things, you are useless in the process. Notice that "choose football coach" was not on the list. Let the people that have to deal with the new HFC, say administrators and superintendents deal with it. Wait, that means they can't be gutless and have to stand by their man.

Well, the month of love is sure to see more movement and it is clinic season. Make sure you get registered for the SunCoaches Retreat on on March 14th. You don't have to pay now, I just need to know how many to plan to feed!
