The State of the State

We all understand that this is a business. This does not absolve many in this business from conducting it in a manner that, quite frankly, pisses coaches the *$%# off. The administration at Kennesaw State University decided to part ways with Coach Brian Bohannon yesterday. On the surface, this is just a business as usual decision in a college football world where coaches are hired and fired on a performance base basis year in and year out. What these ass clowns did goes a bit deeper than "nothing personal, just business."

KSU decided to make the jump from FBC to FBS. Great, good, outstanding. Let's take the man that has built this program from nothing and let him make the natural progression to the highest level in our sport. Let's do this WITHOUT providing him with FBS players, facilities, nor coaching salaries that are commiserate with FBS programs. THEN, after the program struggles, let's FIRE HIM. But, but, because administrators these days are more gutless than they are not, they claim Coach B "stepped down" causing him to have to take to X to clarify what actually happened.

Now we all know that colleges don't care about high school coaches and what we think about anything. They probably shouldn't care about what we think about most things, but this is gonna be a problem for the KSU football program going forward. The KSU staff was pretty well thought of in the high school ranks in the state of Georgia. High school kids lean heavily on their coaches for advice during the recruiting process. You don't think we won't tell them to stay the hell away from that place?! Ask Ga Southern how long it took them to recover from the years of not recruiting kids from alumni coaches in this state. I'll tell you: it was about a decade.

So with that being said, high school coaches you are about to enter the season of coaching changes. High school administrators these days aren't generally old ball coaches. Hell, they aren't even athletically minded. If you don't think they will cave to community pressure some travel ball daddy that's 5 ft nothing, fat ankled, slow twitch muscle fiber QB who isn't getting to play, you're insane. With KSU cutting the legs out from under Bohannon in the manner that they did, the trickle down affect makes you very, very expendable.
